Dear colleagues and friends,

The ISRD Organizing Committee cordially invites you to the 7th International Symposium on Respiratory Diseases (ISRD), which will be held at the Shanghai International Convention Center, Shanghai 16–17 October 2010.

Since it was established in 2003, ISRD has become the representative Asian congress for respiratory specialists, pulmonologists, researchers as well as primary care practitioners.

ISRD aims to bring together international and local medical experts specializing in a range of respiratory diseases, to share their clinical knowledge and experience to improve treatment and disease management outcome. ISRD has grown from 300 participants in 2003 to 1500 in 2009 and has become an annual clinical exchange and networking platform. 

ISRD 2010 will focus on distance monitoring of respiratory conditions, chronic airway diseases, lung cancer and respiratory critical care medicine including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) / acute lung injury (ALI).  

The program will include a course on Mechanical Ventilation Training,18–19 October, endorsed by the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (ASPR) . This 2-day course will include lectures from Dr. Robert Kacmarek, Dr. Strom Christer and Dr. John Marini, and is aimed at improving participants understanding of the mechanisms of ventilator management in ARDS and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 

This congress will take place in the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, the host city of the World Expo 2010. Come and experience the rich Chinese culture and its warm hospitality.  Leveraging on the theme of World Expo 2010 Shanghai, “Better city, Better life” the ISRD committee aims to realize this from bench to bedside.
